Andy Gentile from Colliers stated that we are still within the agreement with MSBA. Current outstanding PCO’s are under $100K.
A. Construction Status Update – provided by Andy Gentile
Opening day was very successful with a few minor issues. The construction workers will start working from 3 pm – 11 pm to continue with punch list items. Andy is keeping a running list of challenges that come up. He asked Ms. Fachini to advise her staff to send her any items they may find and he will address with contractor.
Mayor Alcombright asked about the status of the outside sign going on the slate. Andy stated he would follow up. The Mayor also stated that the heating in the building seemed to be consistent from floor to floor and classroom to classroom as he had walked the building this morning. Andy stated there were a couple of rooms that were very warm and they were being looked into.
Ms. Fachini stated opening day far exceeded her expectations. The kids were happy and the teachers’ anxiety has lessened. Everything ran smoothly. She stated that on Tuesday they were going to try something different with the walkers and that there was not enough staff parking and they would have to continue to use the church parking lot for overflow. Mayor Alcombright stated the parking will be looked at.
B. JWA Update
Margo Jones stated they are working on some glitches yet overall everything is going well.
C. Other Concerns
Mayor Alcombright stated there will be an open house on Monday, January 25th at 1:30 pm. His office with the Superintendent’s office is working on a list of invitees. This tour will be for specific people including MSBA employees and elected officials. In the evening from 6 pm – 7:30 pm there will be an open house for the community.
The Mayor thanked everyone on the committee for their time and efforts over the past few years and stated it all come together today for him when he saw the kids arriving to their new school.
There is no plan for any future meetings. If something were to come up then the committee would meet again.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:20 pm
