Windsor Lake Commission Meeting
The Windsor Lake Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at
5:30pm on the second floor conference room.

Windsor Lake Commission Meeting
DATE: Tuesday May 30, 2017

GUESTS: Dave Merrick, Allysa Lavigne, Shaun Hayden, Kati Clark, Karen Witek,
Doug Merrick, Tammy Daniels
NEW BUSINESS
-MCLA environmental studies student presentation;
– Kati Clark, along with faculty member Karen Witek, presented the
commission with their research regarding invasive species at the Windsor
Lake Complex. A tri-fold design identifying invasive species was also
provided to the commission. The infomational handout will be provided for
campers and beach goers.
-Fishing derby- Robert Banks not present to report
-Charity swim
– Nancy provided information received requesting permission from Paul
Olchvary to host a charity swim on Saturday, August 19, 2017. Paul will do
a solo swim around the lake to raise funds for local and national charities.
The commission approved and recommended follow up with administration
for their approval.
-Book project; Nancy met with Ben Mancino regarding a plan to build a book
shed to house books for people to use while at the lake, free of charge. The
commission approved the project with further information to be provided
about the size of the book shed.
– Resignation: the commission received a letter of resignation from
commissioner Nancy Bullett. Accepted.
OLD BUSINESS
- disc golf grand opening; Nancy report Chris “Smitty” Tolar would like to host a
grand opening on Sunday July 16, 2017. Approved
– signage/ trail mapping; Arlen noted what appears to be new trails on property
which abutts the city property along the railroad tracks. These appear to have
encroached city property. Arlen will follow up with administration.
– Campground rules review; postponed
– administration financial report; postponed
– Hoosic Tunnel update;No update regarding trails. Nancy reported the trail from
South Church St. which crossed the Haupt Tunnel has completely collapsed.
– Dogs in the park; continued problem with compliance of dogs not leashed
OPEN FORUM
– Shaun Hayden, NAFD presented a request to bring playground equipment to
the campground from Sullivan School. The commission supports the request,
however, the equipment will have to meet ADA requirements.
– Dave Merrick, Doug Merrick and Allysa Clark presented a proposal from the
Elks to provide a $2000.00 grant to be used to help build a playground at the
campground. Commissioners discussed with representatives of both groups
and agreed to have the groups work together and to involve administration for
assistance with ADA compliance. Arlen will follow up with administration.

ADJOUNMENT: Motion by Dave, second Arlen to adjourn at 6:40PM Unanimously
approved.
