Hoosac Water Quality District Board of Commissioners

The Hoosac Water Quality District Board of Commissioners consists of four members representing the City of North Adams and the Town of Williamstown. Two members representing the City of North Adams are appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council. Members of the Hoosac Water Quality District Board of Commissioners serve three-year terms and require reappointment by the Mayor and confirmation by the City Council. Vacancies occurring on the Board may be filled in the same manner, but only for the balance of an unexpired term.

The Hoosac Water Quality District Board of Commissioners is responsible for operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) located at 667 Simonds Road in Williamstown and that serves the residents of its two member communities, North Adams and Williamstown, as well as those residents in the Town of Clarksburg who are served through an intermunicipal agreement with the City of North Adams.
