Human Services Commission
The North Adams Human Services Commission consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council. Members of the Human Services Commission serve three-year terms and require reappointment by the Mayor and confirmation by the City Council. Vacancies occurring on the Commission may be filled in the same manner, but only for the balance of an unexpired term.
The Human Services Commission is responsible for evaluating and recommending funding to the various human services agencies in North Adams, with a primary focus on social services campaign funds allocated through the city’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
