North Adams Redevelopment Authority
The North Adams Redevelopment Authority consists of five members, four appointed by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council and one by the Governor. Members of the North Adams Redevelopment Authority serve five-year terms and require reappointment by the Mayor and confirmation by the City Council, (excluding the Governor’s appointment). Vacancies occurring on the Authority may be filled in the same manner, but only for the balance of an unexpired term.
The North Adams Redevelopment Authority is responsible for assisting the City of North Adams in revitalizing disinvested and underutilized neighborhoods and redevelop substandard, decadent, and blighted open areas for residential, commercial, industrial, business, governmental, recreational, educational, hospital or other uses. The Redevelopment Authority operates in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L c. 112B and the City’s Urban Renewal Plan.
