Public Comments - Forest Stewardship Climate Plan - Notch Reservoir

Through a Mohawk Trail Woodlands Partnership grant from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy & Environmental Affairs, The City North Adams has drafted a Forest Stewardship Climate Plan for the city’s Notch Reservoir parcel.  The plan was prepared by Gary Gouldrup of New England Forestry Consultants, a licensed Massachusetts Forester. It considers the risks that climate change poses to Notch Reservoir’s forest and wildlife and makes recommendations on reducing those risks while promoting the city’s goals, including the protection of local water quality.

At this time, the city is accepting public comments for the next two weeks, until 9/30/22. Public comments will be considered as the city develops an operational plan to implement the recommendations that are outlined in the Forest Stewardship Climate Plan. Comments can be submitted to The Commissioner of Public Services, Timothy Lescarbeau, at tlescarbeau@northadams-ma.gov or via mail to 59 Hodges Cross Road, North Adams, MA 01247.
