Historic Valley Campground Policies

Site Occupancy
One (1) camping unit and one (1) free standing screen room or family use tent per site.

Six (6) person limit per site: 2 adults and children 18 and under.

Two (2) vehicles per site (other vehicles must be parked in lot behind office)

Pets must have proof of rabies vaccine. Veterinary Certificate Required. All pets must be leashed (6 ft. maximum) at all times.

Please be considerate of all who are using the campground and clean up after your pet as well as taking care when walking your pet.

Attending to your pet at all times is expected as well as keeping their barking in check. No pets in buildings, play areas or on beach. Failure to abide may result in the removal of your pet and you as well. We reserve the right to limit the number of pets per site.

Firewood
The MA Department of Conservation and Recreation has established a quarantine on the movement of firewood in and out of Berkshire County in order to stop the spread of the invasive Emerald Ash Borer beetle.

Historic Valley Campground prohibits the transportation of firewood that is not from Berkshire County into the park. Local firewood is available for purchase at the camp store for your convenience.

Visitors Policy
Visitors must check in at the office and are expected to leave by 10:00 pm on the same day.

Quiet Hours
Sunday – Thursday:  10:00 pm – 8:00 am
Friday – Saturday:  11:00 pm – 8:00 am

Consideration is your obligation when we speak of “quiet hours”. Respect your neighboring campers.

Environment
Trash removal and recycling on site pick-up at 10:00 am. – 11:00 am.

Please place non-recyclable items in one bag (trash) and in a separate bag place recyclable bottles and cans. For safety reasons, returnable cans are preferred. If you would like to have your returnable bottles and cans picked up as well, place them in another bag/box.

Disposing of waste water improperly is prohibited. Use your holding tank or an enclosed receptacle to carry this to the dump station located near the office. Failing to abide by these considerations could result in a FINE, EVICTION, or TEMPORARY PARK CLOSURE. Check with a manager regarding the scheduling of a pump out if you would like to know more about this option.

Technology
Television and radio antennas may be used according to the following provisions: attached to your car, camper, or a free standing tripod. Please consider the size of your site and the proximity of your neighbors when using these devices.

Disposing of TVs, computer monitors, microwaves, furniture, metal (including tent poles), propane cylinders is prohibited. Please inquire at the office if you need help in knowing how to dispose of items such as the ones listed. Failing to abide by these considerations could result in eviction.

Safety and Recreation
Helmets are required of all who are 16 and under when riding bicycles, scooters, skate boards, and roller skates. Rules of the road apply as well as consideration for others. The use of gas motors, riding after dark, mini-bikes and any type of all-terrain vehicle are prohibited.

Coast guard approved life vests must be worn by everyone who rides in a boat, canoe, (check at office for boating options and regulations) or kayak. When lifeguards are on duty at the designated swimming areas, s/he is the authority. Swimming after dark is prohibited.

There are designated areas around the lake for fishing with the required licenses if you are over 14 years old. Fishing is allowed in the campground with proper licensing and a permit from the office. Be sure to stay off of someone else’s site.
