The North Adams Transfer Station accepts municipal solid waste (general refuse, appliances, brush, tires, non-compacting material) and recyclable material from commerial haulers, city residents and non-residents who purchase an entrance sticker. Entrance Stickers are valid from July 1st through June 30th and temporary monthly stickers are available to city residents and non-residents.
The North Adams Transfer Station now accepts both televisions and computer monitors for a fee. Flat screen TV's and monitors are also accepted. To inquire about any fees please call 413.662.3147.
The North Adams Transfer Station does not accept hazardous material including automotive or household batteries (except alkaline batteries manufactured after 1994), oil, flourescent lamps, pesticides, paints or stains, solvents, treated wood or wood with lead paint, asphalt pavement, brick or concrete.
