Fair Housing Commission
North Adams Fair Housing Commission
The local Fair Housing Commission maintains the local Fair Housing Plan, and acts as the local review and resolution board to resolve fair housing complaints at the local level that are covered under the Federal and/or State Fair Housing laws. It is a seven-member board annually appointed by the Office of the Mayor. The Commission works in tandem with the Fair Housing Officer for the oversight and management of the local plan, as well as acting as the conduit between the City and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Meetings are held quarterly, and as called for by the Commission’s chairperson.
